Steve’s career in law enforcement began in 2003 with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.  He worked as a jailer while attending the Western Missouri Regional Police Academy.  After graduating from the academy, he began working as a road patrol deputy and promoted through the ranks to his current position as a lieutenant.  Steve received Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) certification in 2007, becoming one of the first deputies at the Sheriff’s Office to hold this certification.  Steve is a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in South Korea and during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.  Steve graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration, with an emphasis in law enforcement.  Steve and his wife, Brandy, live in Odessa and they have two adult sons.
