HCC Rides

Bridging the Gap in Rural Transportation

HCC Rides, formerly a partner of Missouri Rural Health Association’s HealthTran, is an innovative transportation program bridging the gap in public health access. The program, launched by HCC Network, serves patients in Lafayette County, offering rides to and from their primary care, dental, and behavioral health appointments. HCC Rides will expand to Ray, Carroll, Saline, and Eastern Jackson Counties.

Along with appointments, Riders may request pharmacy stops to drop off prescriptions or pick up medication. Patients undergoing dialysis, chemotherapy, and other treatments, or patients who feel too sick to drive, may also utilize HCC Rides. Additionally, while HCC Rides focuses on health and wellness appointments, the program will expand to grocery store trips as a part of HCC’s promotion of healthy eating.

How It Works

HCC Rides uses Assisted Rides, an app which provides a rideshare-like experience by notifying drivers of nearby rides and connecting them to patients. If a ride is not immediately picked up by a driver, HCC staff will alert available drivers.
