Our Dental Care Manager, Kyra Tracy recently returned from the 2024 NNOHA Conference. Check out her recap below!

What is NNOHA?

The National Network for Oral Health Access offers programs and resources for dental practices and hosts an annual conference each year with qualifies for Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Credits.

Kyra, could you please tell us about your role at HCC and how long you have been here?

I just celebrated my 11th year at HCC! I have had several roles since being at HCC including a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Waverly, an Outreach Coordinator, the Dental Assistant Training Program Director, and currently serve as Dental Care Manager.

What were you hoping out get out of the NNOHA Conference?

I have attended several NNOHA conferences in the past and they never disappoint. I enjoy the NNOHA conference because they focus on current issues in Dental Public Health. This year was the first time I attended more in an administrative role vs. a clinical role.

What was your biggest takeaway from the event?   How do you think what you learned will benefit HCC Patients?

One of my biggest takeaways was learning from others who have faced the same challenges we face at HCC. Integrated medical and dental software continues to be an issue for most. I spent a lot of time in classes focused around bridging the gap in medical and dental integration, new OSHA and infection control safe practices, and learned how data drives dental programs.
