Sandra’s Story

I relapsed after seven years of being clean when my mom died. It was one of the hardest times in my life — I was grieving, I lost my ID, and my water was shut off. In 2023, my probation officer gave me Molly’s card and said she might be able to help me through NA meetings and getting back on track.

Molly has been my peer support counselor ever since. With the help of HCC Network, and especially Molly, my life began to turn around. She made sure I had transportation to my drug court dates, helped me get my water turned back on, brought me food staples, and gave me rides to the food pantry and job interviews.

Today, I’m one year sober. I have a job in Warrensburg and I volunteer with the 4-Life Center in Lexington. I hope that one day I can support others the same way I’ve been supported in my recovery journey.
