Education & Training
At HCC Network, we believe education helps build stronger, healthier communities. Through hands-on learning, career exploration, and community partnerships, we support students as they develop new skills and prepare for their futures.
Training and Experience
Healthcare Internship
Gain practical experience while supporting rural communities through a non-clinical, community-based internship at HCC Network. Students must be at least 16 years old, and those under 18 must provide guardian consent. Please submit your request at least three weeks before your intended start date to allow time for coordination.
Clinical Training, Practicum, Fellowship
HCC Network offers clinical rotation opportunities for health professions students to apply classroom knowledge in a rural health care setting. Our providers and clinic staff serve as teachers and mentors, helping students build practical skills while caring for our communities.
Dental Assistant Training Program
This program is open to individuals looking to begin a career in the dental field. We offer in-classroom and hands-on clinic training through our network of clinics.
Career Exploration
Shadow a Healthcare Worker
HCC Network offers opportunities for high school and undergraduate pre-health students to shadow or observe a health care professional in a rural clinic setting. Learn firsthand from our providers and staff as you explore your interests and future career path.
Launch into Healthcare
Explore a future in health care at HCC Network’s Launch into Healthcare event. Through hands-on activities and opportunities to connect with health care professionals, students can discover different career paths and learn how these roles support healthier communities. Whether you already have a career in mind or are just beginning to explore, this event is a chance to ask questions and find what interests you.
Community Education
HCC Network’s Dental Education Outreach program brings interactive learning to schools, youth groups, and community events through our Giant Mouth presentations. Younger students learn healthy habits, including proper brushing and flossing, healthy food choices, and the importance of regular dental visits. Older students explore careers in dentistry, discover the different roles on a dental team, and learn about education and training pathways. Our age-appropriate presentations help students care for their smiles and consider how a dental career could help them serve their communities.
